             8      LONG TITLE
             9      General Description:
             10          This bill amends the Landscape Architects Licensing Act by providing for a continuing
             11      education licensing requirement in accordance with standards defined by rule by the
             12      Division of Occupational and Professional Licensing.
             13      Highlighted Provisions:
             14          This bill:
             15          .    provides that a person licensed as a landscape architect shall complete continuing
             16      education requirements during each licensing period in accordance with standards
             17      defined by rule of the Division of Professional and Occupational Licensing.
             18      Money Appropriated in this Bill:

             24          58-53-303, as renumbered and amended by Laws of Utah 1998, Chapter 191

             26      Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
             27          Section 1. Section 58-53-303 is amended to read:


             28           58-53-303. Term of license -- Expiration -- Renewal.
             29          (1) (a) The division shall issue each license under this chapter in accordance with a
             30      two-year renewal cycle established by rule.
             31          (b) The division may by renewal extend or shorten a license expiration date by as much
             32      as one year to stagger the renewal cycles it administers.
             33          (2) Each license automatically expires on the expiration date shown on the license
             34      unless renewed by the licensee in accordance with Section 58-1-308 .
             35          (3) Each person holding a current license issued under this chapter shall complete in
             36      each period of licensure a program of qualifying continuing professional education in
             37      accordance with standards defined by division rule made in accordance with Title 63G, Chapter
             38      3, Utah Administrative Rulemaking Act.
