All the topics on today's agenda are trying to address the affordable housing problem. This agenda item is intended to lay a foundation by examining the extent and nature of an affordable housing problem in Utah. How is affordable housing defined? How much affordable housing already exists? Do some communities have more affordable housing than other communities? What federal, state, and local programs already exist to address the affordable housing problem?

Master Study Resolution item #162 - to study the cost of municipal land use and construction regulation on residential construction and affordable housing. What is the problem? How is this issue different from the issues in agenda items #4 and #5? What information is unique to this agenda item? The study sponsor and invited guests will have 15 minutes jointly to present their perspective. As time is available, additional comments and public comments will be allowed under agenda item #6.
