2.  Front-line Teachers

The committee will hear and discuss a presentation of draft legislation that establishes reporting requirements for school districts, charter schools, and the Utah State Board of Education on the allocation of resources for front-line teachers, which the draft legislation defines as licensed teachers who have an assignment to teach kindergarten, elementary, secondary, or special education courses, and does not include prekindergarten teachers, school-based specialists, or classroom aides.

3.  School Grading

The Legislature passed S.B. 271 “School Grading Amendments” during the 2013 General Session, which modified the School Grading Act. The committee will hear an update on the implementation of the changes.

4.  Capabilities of the Utah Data Alliance

The committee will hear a presentation and discuss the types of data available in the statewide longitudinal data system and the capabilities of those data in answering specific research questions or better informing public users through the dissemination of aggregated data.
