Representatives of the State Board of Education will describe the challenges, goals, and objectives of the public education system for the next five years and what the Legislature can do or refrain from doing to assist in achieving those goals and objectives.

 9:50         3.  Perspective of Teachers

A panel of teachers in kindergarten through grade 12 classrooms will describe the elements that contribute to high student achievement, their challenges, and what the Legislature can do or refrain from doing to promote student learning.

11:20       4.  Annual Report - Capital Outlay Increment Spending

Revenue from a 0.0006 capital outlay levy imposed by school districts in a county of the first class is distributed among the school districts based on enrollment and enrollment growth. A school district that receives a distribution greater than the amount of revenue generated within the school district is required to make an annual report on the spending of the capital outlay increment.
