9:30         3.      Optional Medicaid Eligibility Expansion

The task force will be briefed on Governor Gary R. Herbert’s efforts to negotiate federal approval of his Healthy Utah Plan announced during the 2014 General Session of the Legislature and will review efforts by other states to implement alternative Medicaid expansions under the federal Affordable Care Act.

10:30      4.      Mandatory Medicaid Eligibility Expansion

The task force will be updated on the implementation of the mandatory Medicaid eligibility expansion. The task force will also be briefed on the transfer of Medicaid applications by the state to the federal Health Insurance Marketplace, and vice-versa.

10:45      5.      Utah’s Premium Partnership for Health Insurance (UPP)

The task force will consider options for increasing enrollment in Utah’s Premium Partnership for Health Insurance (UPP).

11:05      6.      The Federal Health Insurance Marketplace

The task force will be updated on the roll-out and operation of the federal Affordable Care Act’s health insurance exchange for individual health insurance policies, implemented by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
