2. Sentencing Discussion

The committee will wrap up discussion continued from the July interim meeting related to the current sentencing structure in Utah, taking into consideration preliminary results that have been released by a recent PEW study regarding prison commitments and prison drivers.

3. Expungement of Administrative Action

The committee will continue discussion on the issue of administrative actions related to orders of expungement and whether specified agencies should expunge records related to administrative proceedings connected to expunged convictions, arrests, investigations, or detentions. The committee will receive a staff presentation on the history of the Utah Expungement Code as well as current state and federal practices related to this topic.

4. Domestic Asset Protection Trusts

The committee has been assigned by the Legislative Management Committee to study the issue of domestic asset protection trusts related to the provisions in 2014 General Session HB 162. The committee will receive a staff presentation on the background of this priority item as well as input from Robert S. Tippett and Representative Tanner.
