1:05         2.      Expedited Placements With Kin and Others

As follow-up to its June 24, 2014, meeting, the panel will receive a report from the Division of Child and Family Services on steps the division can take to expedite the placement of children in its protective custody, temporary custody, or custody with relatives or others who already have a relationship with the child.

1:20         3.      Youth in Foster Care

As follow-up to its May 22, 2014, meeting, the panel will consider actions the Division of Child and Family Services or the Legislature could take to facilitate:

1)         the acquisition of driver licenses by foster care youth;

2)         child involvement in foster care placement decisions, visitation arrangements, and other case decisions;

3)         an increase in meaningful connections among siblings placed in separate foster homes;

4)         the availability of affordable housing for youth who exit foster care; and

5)         an emphasis on treatment rather than compliance for trauma-focused care.

1:50         4.      Disclosure of DCFS Investigations by Non-DCFS Professionals

The panel will discuss what information a child care provider, educator, or other child services professional may disclose to a parent whose child is the subject of an investigation by the Division of Child and Family Services.
