·         Approval of the minutes of the October 29, 2014, meeting

·         In response to a task force member's request at the October meeting, the Utah State Office of Education has provided "Smart School Technology Program Timeline."

 

 

    2:10 p.m.         2.  Education Strategic Plan

Education First has compiled a report providing an overview of the relationship between education and economic development and proposing a five-year plan for innovation, investment, and accountability in education.

    2:40 p.m.        3.  Review Proposed Legislation, "Public Education Increased

Funding Program"                  

The task force will review proposed legislation that increases the individual income tax rate and allocates the increased tax revenues for certain public education purposes.

    3:20 p.m.        4.  Review Proposed Legislation, "Digital Teaching and Learning

                              Program"

The task force will review proposed legislation that creates a competitive grant program to improve school level outcomes through the use of digital teaching and learning technology and educator professional development.

4:00 p.m.        5.  Community Schools: Supporting Principals in Improving 

                           Academic Achievement

The Community Schools Program is an initiative of the United Way to link community resources with schools to improve educational outcomes.

The task force is required to submit a report to the Executive Appropriations and Education Interim Committees by December 31, 2014. The task force will review a draft task force report.
