        2.      Medical Marijuana

As follow-up to its May, July, and August meetings, the committee will consider proposals that would amend Utah law to permit the use of marijuana or marijuana products for medical purposes.

        3.      Third-Party Medical Liability

As follow-up to its May meeting, the committee will consider what action, if any, the state should take in response to the Utah Supreme Court's 2012 decision in Jeffs v. West, which reportedly has the potential to extend the duty of medical care providers to unidentifiable third parties and, by expanding access to patient records, increase the nuisance potential in injury cases.

        4.      Suicide Prevention Report

As directed by 2015 H.B. 364, Suicide Prevention Amendments, the state suicide prevention coordinator will report to the committee on the implementation, funding, and effectiveness of the state's suicide prevention program.
