2.   Optional School Readiness Programs for At-Risk Children

      During the August 19, 2015, interim meeting, the committee voted to open a bill file related to preschool for at-risk children. The committee will hear briefings and consider a legislative proposal on the topic.

3.   Charter School Funding Task Force Report

      2015 General Session H.B. 444 created a Charter School Funding Task Force to study and make recommendations regarding charter school funding. The committee will hear a report on the task force's activities.

4.   Career and Technical Education (CTE) Legislative Audits

      The Legislative Audit Subcommittee assigned the committee to conduct a review of two legislative audits related to career and technical education. The committee will hear briefings on the audits and agency responses.

 

·         A Review of CTE Coordination and Program Duplication Between Public Education and the Utah College of Applied Technology (Report #2015-09)

5.   Report on the Impact of Certain Funds on Class Size

      The committee will hear a statutorily required report on the impact of class size reduction funding, K-3 Reading Improvement Program funding, and Title 1 money on class size (53A-17a-124.5).
