                               Approval of the minutes of the November 20, 2015, meeting

9:10       2.    Draft Legislation: "Veteran Definition Amendments"

                       The commission will review and consider recommending draft legislation that amends various sections

                       of the Utah code that are impacted by 2015 new definition of a veteran.

9:30       3.    Draft Legislation: "Veteran License Plates Amendments"

The commission will review changes, based on new information, to the license plate bill that was recommended by the commission in the November 20, 2015, meeting. The commission, if it supports those changes, will need to vote on the bill again as commission recommended legislation.

9:50       4.    Draft Legislation: "Emergency Medical Services Interstate Compact"

The commission will review and consider recommending draft legislation that approves Utah's

participation in an interstate compact for emergency medical services providers.

10:10     5.    Draft Legislation: "National Guard Death Benefit Amendments"

The commission will review and consider draft legislation that increases death benefits for the next

of kin of a member of the Utah National Guard who dies while on state-activated duty.

10:30     6.    Draft Legislation: "Military Retirement Income Tax Exemption"

The commission will review and consider draft legislation that provides an exemption of military retirement pay from state income taxes.

10:50     7.    Tuition Waiver Amendments

                       The commission will hear a presentation about draft legislation that would provide tuition waivers to members and dependents of the Utah National Guard and Reserve under certain conditions.

11:10     8.    Presumption of Residency for Active-Duty Military, Veterans, and Dependents at Utah Institutions of Higher Education

The commission will hear about how "residency" is defined, how the definition can be changed, and potential impacts.
