8. Utah International Relations and Trade
Commission – Sunset Review
Two provisions of the Utah Code related to the Utah
International Relations and Trade Commission will be repealed December 31, 2017, unless reauthorized by the
Legislature. The provisions are Title 36, Chapter 26, which establishes the
commission and describes its duties, and Section 67-1-15, which requires the governor
to consult with the commission prior to approving an international trade
agreement. The committee will hear from a chair of the commission on these
provisions and a recommendation on whether the provisions should be
reauthorized.
