Chair Eliason called the meeting to order at 2:06 p.m.


1. H.B. HB0064 Property Tax Relief Amendments (Peterson, J.)


Rep. Peterson explained the bill.


Ms. Rebecca Rockwell, Commissioner, Utah State Tax Commission, spoke to the bill.

 

MOTION:     Rep. Froerer moved to pass H.B. 64 out favorably. The motion passed with a vote of 7-0-5.

Voting in the affirmative were:

Rep. Eliason, Rep. Froerer, Rep. Greene, Rep. King, Rep. Lisonbee, Rep. Moss, and Rep. Quinn.

Absent or not voting were:

Rep. Sagers, Rep. Briscoe, Rep. Ivory, Rep. Stanard , and Rep. Wilson.


2. H.B. 49 Social Security Tax Credit (Westwood, J.)


Rep. John R. Westwood explained the bill.


Mr. John Valentine, Commissioner, Utah State Tax Commission, spoke to the bill.

 

MOTION:     Rep. Froerer moved to replace H.B. 49 with 1st Substitute H.B. 49. The motion passed with a vote of 7-2-3.

Voting in the affirmative were:

Rep. Eliason, Rep. Briscoe, Rep. Froerer, Rep. Greene, Rep. King, Rep. Quinn, and Rep. Stanard.

Voting in the negative were:

Rep. Lisonbee and Rep. Moss.

Absent or not voting were:

Rep. Sagers, Rep. Ivory, and Rep. Wilson.

 

MOTION:     Rep. Stanard moved to hold 1st Sub. H.B. 49. The motion passed with a vote of 9-0-3.

Voting in the affirmative were:

Rep. Eliason, Rep. Briscoe, Rep. Froerer, Rep. Greene, Rep. King, Rep. Lisonbee, Rep. Moss, Rep. Quinn, and Rep. Stanard.

Absent or not voting were:

3. H.B. 70 Common Area Assessment Amendments (Froerer, G.)


Rep. Gage Froerer explained the bill.


Mr. Kevin Jacobs, Salt Lake County Assessor, spoke to the bill.


Commissioner John Valentine responded to questions.

 

MOTION:     Rep. Ivory moved to pass H.B. 70 out favorably. The motion passed with a vote of 9-0-3.

Voting in the affirmative were:

Rep. Eliason, Rep. Briscoe, Rep. Froerer, Rep. Greene, Rep. Ivory, Rep. Lisonbee, Rep. Moss, Rep. Quinn, and Rep. Stanard.

Absent or not voting were:

Rep. Sagers, Rep. King, and Rep. Wilson.

 

MOTION:     Rep. Ivory moved to adjourn. The motion passed with a vote of 9-0-3.
