Chair Bramble called the meeting to order at 2:10 p.m.

 

MOTION:     Sen. Hemmert moved to approve the minutes. The motion passed with a vote of 3-0-5.

Voting in the affirmative were:

Absent or not voting were:

Davis G, Mayne K, Okerlund R, Stevenson J, Weiler T


Sen. Hemmert assumed the chair.


1. S.B. 92 Workers' Compensation Fund Revisions (Bramble, C.)


Sen. Bramble explained the bill.


Dennis Lloyd, General Counsel, Workers' Compensation Fund spoke in favor of the bill.


Dennis Lloyd distributed a handout, Workers' Compensation Fund Revisions.


Todd Kiser, Commissioner, Utah Insurance Department spoke in favor of the bill.


Sen. Ipson declared a Conflict of Interest.


Jaceson Maughan, Commissioner, Utah Labor Commission spoke to the bill.


Mike Sonntag, American Insurance Association spoke to the bill.



 

MOTION:     Sen. Davis moved to pass S.B. 92 out favorably. The motion passed with a vote of 5-0-3.

2. S.B. 52 Rental Amendments (Fillmore, L.)


Sen. Fillmore explained the bill.

 

MOTION:     Sen. Ipson moved to pass 1st Substitute S.B. 52 out favorably. The motion failed with a vote of 0-5-3.

MOTION:     Sen. Davis moved to amend the bill as follows:

MOTION:     Sen. Weiler moved to pass S.B. 99 out favorably. The motion passed with a vote of 5-0-3.

4. H.B. 38 Statutory Required Reports Amendments (Peterson, V.)

MOTION:     Sen. Ipson moved to pass H.B. 38 out favorably. The motion passed with a vote of 5-0-3.
