Chair Dayton called the meeting to order at 2:12 PM


Rep. Lee B. Perry explained the bill.





1. H.B. 33 Mercury Switch Removal Act Reauthorization (Perry, L.)

 

MOTION:     Sen. Hinkins moved to pass H.B. 33 out favorably. The motion passed with a vote of 4-0-3.

Voting in the affirmative were:

Dayton M, Hinkins D, Knudson P, Vickers E

Absent or not voting were:

Christensen A, Iwamoto J, Shiozawa B


 

MOTION:     Sen. Hinkins moved to place H.B. 33 on the Consent Calendar. The motion passed with a vote of 4-0-3.

Voting in the affirmative were:

Absent or not voting were:

Christensen A, Iwamoto J, Shiozawa B



Sen. Hinkins assumed the chair.






2. S.B. 63 Nonprofit Corporation Amendments - Water Companies (Dayton, M.)


Sen. Margaret Dayton explained the bill.


Steven Clyde, Water Attorney, explained and spoke in favor of the bill.


John Mabey, Water Attorney, spoke in favor of the bill.


Sen. Evan Vickers requested clarification.


Heather Anderson, Utah Association of Special Districts, spoke in favor of the bill.


Todd Bingham, President, Utah Manufacturers Association,  spoke in favor of the bill.


Mark Compton, Utah Mining Association, spoke in favor of the bill.


Sterling Brown, Utah Farm Bureau, spoke in favor of the bill.


Charles Holmgren, Director, Utah Association of Irrigation and Canal Companies, spoke in favor of the bill.


Curtis Marble, President, Bear River Canal Company, spoke in favor of the bill.

MOTION:     Sen. Dayton moved to pass S.B. 63 out favorably. The motion passed with a vote of 6-0-1.
