Chair Millner called the meeting to order at 2:09 p.m.

 

MOTION:     Sen. Iwamoto moved to approve the minutes of February 13, 2017. The motion passed unanimously.


1. H.B. 62 Educator Rights Amendments (Stratton, K.)


Rep. Keven J. Stratton explained the bill.

 

MOTION:     Sen. Henderson moved to pass H.B. 62 out favorably. The motion passed with a vote of 5-0-2.

Rep. Derrin R. Owens presented the bill with the assistance of Ms. Angie Stallings, Deputy Superintendent, Utah State Board of Education.


Ms. Carol Lear, State School Board member spoke to the bill.

 

MOTION:     Sen. Stephenson moved to pass H.B. 125 out favorably. The motion passed with a vote of 4-0-3.

Rep. Bruce R. Cutler explained the bill and distributed a handout entitled, "Teacher Salary Supplement Program."


Ms. Angie Stallings, Deputy Superintendent, Utah State Board of Education spoke to the bill.

 

MOTION:     Sen. Stephenson moved to pass H.B. 35 out favorably. The motion passed with a vote of 4-0-3.
