Acting Chair Harper called the meeting to order at 9:10 a.m.

MOTION:     Sen. Bramble moved to approve the minutes of the February 22, 2017 meeting.

The motion passed with a vote of 6-0-2.

1. S.B. 249 Tax E-Filing Amendments (Bramble, C.)

Sen. Bramble explained the bill.

Mr. Barry Conover, Executive Director, Utah State Tax Commission, spoke in favor of the bill.

MOTION:     Sen. Bramble moved to replace S.B. 249 with 1st Substitute S.B. 249.

The motion passed with a vote of 6-0-2.

MOTION:     Sen. Dabakis moved to pass 1st Substitute S.B. 249 out favorably.

The motion passed with a vote of 6-0-2.

MOTION:     Sen. Bramble moved to place 1st Substitute S.B. 249 on the Consent Calendar.

The motion passed with a vote of 6-0-2.

2. S.B. 43 Property Assessment Amendments (Henderson, D.)

MOTION:     Sen. Henderson moved to return S.B. 43 to the Rules Committee.

The motion passed with a vote of 6-0-2.

Sen. Bramble assumed the chair.

3. S.B. 142 Redevelopment Agency Amendments (Fillmore, L.)

Sen. Fillmore explained the bill.

Sen. Stephenson assumed the chair.

MOTION:     Sen. Harper moved to replace S.B. 142 with 2nd Substitute S.B. 142.

The motion failed with a vote of 3-5-0.

MOTION:     Sen. Bramble moved to go to the next item on the agenda.

The motion passed with a vote of 8-0-0.

4. S.B. 247 Modifications to Distribution of Local Sales Tax Revenues (Okerlund, R.)

The committee discussed the bill.

Mr. Lincoln Shurtz, Utah Association of Counties, spoke to the bill.

MOTION:     Sen. Bramble moved to adjourn.

The motion passed with a vote of 7-0-1.

Chair Stephenson adjourned the meeting at 9:38 a.m.
