Acting Chair Hillyard called the meeting to order at 2:14 p.m.

 

Sen. Hillyard assumed the chair.


Chair Hillyard announced that the committee would saunter for 10 minutes while waiting for the bill presenters.

1. H.B. 409 Charter School Funding Amendments (Last, B.)


Rep. Bradley G. Last explained the bill.


Mr. Royce Van Tassell, Executive Director, Utah Association of Public Charter Schools spoke in favor of the bill.

 

MOTION:     Sen. Henderson moved to pass H.B. 409 out favorably. The motion passed with a vote of 4-0-3.

MOTION:     Sen. Henderson moved to replace H.B. 291 with 1st Substitute H.B. 291. The motion passed with a vote of 4-0-3.

MOTION:     Sen. Henderson moved to pass 1st Substitute H.B. 404 out favorably. The motion passed with a vote of 5-0-2.
