In response to legislative intent language from the 2014 General Session, the Division of Services for People with Disabilities provided the Office of the Legislative Fiscal Analyst with a report reviewing its Critical Needs Assessment process (http://le.utah.gov/interim/2014/pdf/00005237.pdf). When the Legislature provides funding for individuals on the Disabilities Waiting List, 85% (UCA 62A-5-102(4)(b)) of the funding goes to those with the highest Critical Needs Assessment scores. Per statute, UCA 62A-5-102(4)(c), the remaining 15% goes towards providing respite services to individuals and families randomly selected from the list.
