This bill requires 50 percent of the faculty at the State's community colleges to be full-time faculty. If Utah Valley State College is not classified as a community college, then this bill only applies to SLCC. Snow, Dixie and CEU have more than 50 percent full-time faculty on their campuses. At SLCC there are 760 FTE faculty, 431, or 57 percent, are adjunct. To bring the ratio of full-time faculty up to 50 percent would require a conversion of 51 Full Time Equivalent (FTE) adjunct faculty positions to full-time at a cost of $1,512,100 in salaries and benefits.
