A survey of post secondary students indicate that 10 students would qualify each year for this scholarship program. Enactment of this legislation requires an appropriation of $13,200 from the General Fund to the Board of Regents in FY 2000 for 75% of the tuition. Second year costs for the first 10 students, plus 10 additional students who qualify, amounts to $27,300. As the program grows, on average, it costs $1,365 for each additional student awarded a tuition scholarship.
