This bill requires a ground water discharge permit for all radioactive material waste facilities. The bill also requires the board to establish administrative rules. The one-time rulemaking expense is estimated to be $5,000 from the General Fund in FY 2001. It is unknown at this time how many applications for discharge permits would be processed by the Department of Environmental Quality. Fees are permitted to be collected as Dedicated Credits to offset the expenses incurred to process those applications.
