HB0083s2 - Child Welfare Amendments

State Impact:
Costs in defending actions of child protective service workers could increase from this legislation. The Legislative Fiscal Analyst Office estimates the Attorney General's Office will need additional staff at a cost of about $113,400. Increased risk of lawsuits of child care case employees could result in investigation and defense costs of $100,000 or more per year, which will be handled through future premium rate changes beginning in FY 2003.
