HB0105 - Licensure of Estheticians and Nail Technicians

State Impact:
It is estimated that this bill will increase revenue to the Commerce Service Fund by approximately $434,100 every other year from licensing fees. An estimated $50,000 will be collected in the intermediate year. It will require an appropriation of $151,700 from the Commerce Service Fund to the Department of Commerce to implement the provisions of the bill. Included in this amount is $28,400 that may be paid for legal services by the Department to the Attorney General's Office. Provisions of this bill will supplement the General Fund with $282,400 for FY 2002 from the excess Commerce Service Fund revenue.

Individual and Business Impact:
Affected individuals will be required to pay a licensing fee every other year. Some individuals will have to pay an increased fee depending on their current license. Costs will range from $10 to $75 depending on their current licensure status.
