SB0059 - Licensing of Genetic Counselors

State Impact:
It is estimated that this bill will increase revenue to the Commerce Service Fund by approximately $2,250 every other year, as licenses are for a two year period. It will require an appropriation of $2,100 from the Commerce Service Fund to the Department of Commerce to implement the licensing of genetic counselors. Additional funding for legal fees may be required in subsequent years. It is estimated they can be absorbed initially. Appropriations from the Commerce Service Fund affect the amount available for transfer to the General Fund.

Individual and Business Impact:
Affected individuals will be required to pay a $150 initial licensing fee and a renewal licensing fee of $135 every two years.
