HB0062 - Clean Fuel Special Group License Plate Amendments
State Impact:
Enactment of this bill will change the eligibility requirement for a clean fuel special group license plate from the standards set forth for a clean special fuel tax certificate to standards established by the Department of Transportation. Approximately 1,000 owners will be required to buy new plates at $5 per plate. Of the amount they pay, $1 will be deposited into the Transportation Fund and $4 into the Reflectorized Plate Fee dedicated credit account to cover the cost of replacement.

Individual, Business and/or Local Impact:
Approximately 1,000 vehicles issued a special fuel tax certificate will not be eligible under the new federal regulations. Owners of such vehicles would be required to pay the replacement plate fee ($5).
