HB0100 - Internet Privacy Amendments

State Government (UCA 36-12-13(2)(b)):
Enacting this bill will cost the Courts up to $8,100 per year ongoing from the General Fund beginning in FY 2014. The bill will also generate $2,500 per year in ongoing General Fund revenue for a net cost of $5,600. To the extent that individuals successfully claim a private right of action established in this bill, the state as an employer, or the post-secondary institutions in the state, may pay $500 per case.

Local Governments (UCA 36-12-13(2)(c)):
To the extent that individuals successfully claim a private right of action established in this bill, local governments as employers may pay $500 per case.

Direct Expenditures by Utah Residents and Businesses (UCA 36-12-13(2)(d)):
Courts fees will amount to $50 per case multiplied by 50 cases per year, costing individuals $2,500 annually. To the extent that individuals successfully claim a private right of action established in this bill, employers may pay, and individuals may receive, $500 per case.
