SB0280 - Dispensing Medical Practitioner Amendments

State Government (UCA 36-12-13(2)(b)):
Enactment of this bill would increase revenue to the Commerce Service Fund by $222,000 in FY 2014 and by $296,000 in FY 2015. Costs to the Department of Commerce to implement the provisions of the bill would be $229,900 in FY2014 and $228,900 in FY 2015. The bill also generates $59,200 in Dedicated Credit Revenue from background checks required in the bill. Spending from the Commerce Service Fund affects annual transfers to the General Fund.

Local Governments (UCA 36-12-13(2)(c)):
Enactment of this bill likely will not result in direct, measurable costs for local governments.

Direct Expenditures by Utah Residents and Businesses (UCA 36-12-13(2)(d)):
An estimated 1,480 applicants will apply for the $150 license established in the bill for a cumulative cost of $222,000. Those same 1,480 individuals will also pay a $40 fee for a background check for an additional cumulative cost of $59,200. In addition to the same number of new applicants the second year the original applicants will pay a renewal fee of $50 for a cumulative cost of $74,000.
