HB2001 - State Employee Benefit Amendments

State Government (UCA 36-12-13(2)(b)):
Enactment of this bill allows state agencies to expend up to $1.3 million through December 1, 2013 from state funds previously appropriated for FY 2014. Bill provisions allow specific agencies to use existing resources for fixed cost benefits and holiday leave benefits for furloughed employees to cover potential shortfalls in federal funding occurring as a result of the federal government shutdown. The actual amount will depend on the total number of furloughed employees and total number of furlough days.

Enactment of this bill likely will not result in direct, measurable costs for local governments.

Direct Expenditures by Utah Residents and Businesses (UCA 36-12-13(2)(d)):
