HB0324 - Ortho-bionomy Exemption Amendments

State Government (UCA 36-12-13(2)(b)):
Enactment of this bill could result in increased costs of $45,200 to the Department of Commerce for eligibility determination which will be offset somewhat by savings of $13,000 from a reduction in citation investigations. The net cost to the Department of Commerce is estimated at $32,200. The changes in licensing requirements established in the bill could reduce citation revenue to the Department of Commerce of $23,000 annually. Additionally, the Department could lose 337 of the existing application and FBI/BCI fees as current licensees become exempt under the provisions of the bill. The estimation loss from these revenue sources is estimated at $33,700 annually. Spending from the Commerce Service Fund affects annual transfers to the General Fund.

Enactment of this bill likely will not result in direct, measurable costs for local governments.

Direct Expenditures by Utah Residents and Businesses (UCA 36-12-13(2)(d)):
Enactment of this bill could result in 46 individuals not receiving citations of $500. Additionally, an estimated 337 current licensees could become exempt from licensure resulting in cumulative savings from application and FBI/BCI fees of $100 annually.
