Fiscal Note - State of Utah - 2014 General Session
HB0399 - Truancy Amendments
State Government (UCA 36-12-13(2)(b)):
Presuming students with 10 consecutive days of unexcused absenses will continue to not be counted in membership for ADM purposes, enactment of this bill does not materially affect the number of WPUs (state cost). Currently there are 2,951 of these students in the state.
Local Governments (UCA 36-12-13(2)(c)):
Local education agencies may see cost savings by eliminating work related to habitual truant citations.
Direct Expenditures by Utah Residents and Businesses (UCA 36-12-13(2)(d)):
Enactment of this bill likely will not result in direct, measurable expenditures by Utah residents or businesses.
Performance Note Required? (Joint Rule 4-2-404): No
