SB0072 - Uninsured Motorist Provisions

State Government (UCA 36-12-13(2)(b)):
Enactment of this bill could cost $13,500 one-time from the Uninsured Motorist Identification Restricted Account in FY 2015 for reimbursement payments to vehicle owners and for information technology programming. Beginning FY 2016, enactment of this bill could cost $13,000 ongoing from the Uninsured Motorist Identification Restricted Account in reimbursement payments to vehicle owners.

Enactment of this bill likely will not result in direct, measurable costs for local governments.

Direct Expenditures by Utah Residents and Businesses (UCA 36-12-13(2)(d)):
For each impounded vehicle, individuals could pay $522 for towing, storing, and other administrative costs. If a determination is made that an individual's vehicle was wrongly impounded, indivudals may be reimbursed the costs of towing and storage.
