State Government (UCA 36-12-13(2)(b)):
Enactment of this bill will cost the Department of Environmental Quality approximately $12,600 one-time in FY 2015 and $1,000 ongoing in FY 2016. The one-time costs are to develop rules for the program and to create a radon information pamphlet. The ongoing costs are to keep the pamphlet up to date and to review and revise rules as needed.

Enactment of this bill requires a purchaser of a residential property to perform a radon test. Depending on the type of test, short-term or long-term, the cost of the test can range from $10-$160 (per test, per residential property).
