Repertory Dance Theatre is thrilled to welcome three new dancers for the upcoming season. Lauren Curley, Dan Higgins, and Lacie Scott, will join the company as we enter our 49th season of dance in Salt Lake City.
Dan Higgins has a BFA in Dance Performance from the University of Wyoming in Laramie, Wyoming. Mr. Higgins worked as an understudy for RDT in 2012 for "Bolero" by Joanie Smith and "How to Pass, Kick, Fall, and Run" by Merce Cunningham.
Lauren Curley recently graduated from The Hartt School at the University of Hartford. Ms. Curley has received training in Graham and Limon technique and has extensive teaching and choreographing experience in ballet, pointe, modern, contemporary, musical theater, jazz, and repertory.
Lacie Scott was born in Carlsbad, New Mexico and recently graduated with a BA in Dance Performance from Brigham Young University. Lacie danced with Repertory Dance Theatre last season in the production of 'Missa Brevis" by Jose Limon and has worked with teachers and choreographers such as Mia Micheals, Nina Watt, and Charlotte Boye-Christensen.
These talented dancers join the company after the departure of Alyssa Thompson, Katherine Winder, and Aaron Wood. Thompson moved back to her home state of Florida to pursue other opportunities. Winder has entered the field of physical therapy, and Wood has accepted a teaching position at the University of Wyoming.
Both Aaron Wood & Katherine Winder will be performing with the company one last time at the Utah Arts Festival on June 29.
