Subject: EPA Extends Comment Period on 111d to December 1st

Dear EPSC Members,

As you may know EPA just announced this afternoon that it is extending its public comment period on the Section 111d rules until December 1st.

The extension for public comments won’t change the dates for implementation or when the agency expects to issue a final rule next summer. An article in the DC publication The Hill suggests that the move comes after significant pressure was made by Congress to give stakeholders and states more time to gather information and fully assess what the impacts of the rule may be. Last week, more than 50 senators sent a bipartisan letter asking for additional time for comments.

Best,

Brydon
