Dear Legislators:

Tier III, low-sulfur gasoline will be an important tool to reduce current and future vehicle fleet emissions and help improve air quality in Utah as we go forward and continue to grow as a state.  Producing low-sulfur gasoline is not a simple process.   Lee Peacock (Utah Petroleum Association - UPA) has arranged for a tour of the Chevron Refinery in North Salt Lake.  This  tour will help legislators better understand how Tier III low-sulfur gasoline is produced, capital upgrade costs, production costs, and other challenges associated with producing this important motor vehicle fuel for Utah's future.

The itinerary is as follows:

Tuesday Evening, July 15, 2014  - (day before July Interim meeting day)

5:30 PM - Meet in the basement of the House of Representatives Office building, west-side entrance.

5:45 PM - Load in vans provided by UPA and travel to the Chevron refinery

6:00 PM - Tour of Chevron refinery

6:45 PM - Presentation and Q&A panel regarding low-sulfur fuel technologies

7:45 PM - Load vans and return to House Office building

8:00 PM - Arrive back at House Office building

You may invite one interested guest if you wish.

Please RSVP by email to me so I can get a head count for adequate van capacity  for transportation.
