|Our Constitutional scholars & attorneys do not understand Legislative sovereignty in Article V.
THE ARTICLE V SINGLE ISSUE AMENDMENT CONVENTION PROCESS IS OUR LAST HOPE TO RECLAIM OUR CONSTITUTIONAL REPUBLIC PEACEFULLY. . .
CITIZEN INITIATIVES, Charles Kacprowicz May 30, 2014
What troubles me is that our so called scholars and Constitutional attorneys have no understanding of the sovereign authority State Legislatures alone have in Article V.
Legislatures can define their Article V Convention as they choose, BUT IF THEY DO IT WRONG, WE ALL LOSE!
The States must not let Congress, the Courts, Executive, Governors, delegates to a Convention, or other Article V groups define their sovereignty for them.
The States are the deliberative body and send delegates to a Convention as Ambassadors, not free agents.
Delegates to an Article V Convention do not have authority equal to the Founders. Article V delegates are limited to deliberating on amendments proposed by the Legislatures.
The Founders alone had the charge of amending the Articles of Confederation which eventually resulted in the final Constitution. From the time they finally signed this magnificent document until now, they never intended that the original document could be changed in substance by "free agent" delegates with unlimited authority.
If the States abdicate this Article V authority by allowing such "free agent" delegates, we will not reclaim our Constitutional heritage and Republic. There is much at stake. It is not a matter of one opinion against another. It is a matter of right and wrong and permanent potential loss of the power of states to rescue the Constitution and Bill of rights. Please, don't surrender theses precious and powerful rights via the flawed arguments of groups like COS, CFA, FOAVC, etc.
