Subject: STAND FOR RIGHT FRIDAY @ NOON - Come to Press Conference in Support of Amendment 3
Date: Fri Apr 11 00:41:37 MDT 2014
Body:

This is a special invitation to ask the legislators to join with us tomorrow to honor our amazing legal team at a press conference in the Rotunda at the Capitol. Please be there to show your appreciation.  Below is a copy of the alert we sent to lists of people who support traditional marriage.  Below that is a copy of the press release.

Please join us Friday, April 11, from 12:00 to 12:30 PM, in the Utah Capitol Rotunda for a press conference to thank Utah's legal team for their defense of Utah's Constitutional Amendment 3 before the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals.

We would like to honor Attorney General Sean Reyes and Lead Counsel Gene Schaerr along with all those who worked with them as well as all who filed amicus briefs in support of marriage between a man and a woman. We will also honor LaVar Christensen, the author and sponsor of Amendment 3 and the nearly six-hundred thousand of voters who voted for and who continue to support Amendment 3.

We need you to come and stand up with us for traditional marriage.  Bring your children to teach them to stand up for what they believe. It is very important to invite your neighbors, friends and family to come with you or to meet you at the Capitol to show support in this critical battle.

Marriage between a man and a woman is essential because every child needs and deserves a mother and a father.   Just this past week-end members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints heard their leaders invite people of all faiths to stand together for what they believe.  All those who believe that marriage is between a man and a woman need to stand-up and make their presence felt and let their voices be heard.   Elder Neil L. Andersen said, "While many governments and well-meaning individuals have redefined marriage, the Lord has not."

Now is the time to stand with God and support God's law.  Those who support same-sex marriage claim to be on the right side of history, as they have revised it. We stand on the right side of truth and real history, the history that starts with, "in the beginning God created . . . male and female."  There is only one way to create and properly nurture children and that is with a mother and a father.

We are looking forward to joining with you on Friday.  Thank you for your support.

Press Conference in Support of Amendment 3

Who: A coalition of pro-family, traditional marriage advocacy groups.

When: Friday, April 11, at 12 noon.

Where: Rotunda, Utah Capitol.

Why: At the close of a very aggressive and articulate defense of Amendment 3,  Utah's Marriage Coalition would like to thank Attorney General Sean Reyes and lead attorney Gene Schaerr and their team of experts for their willingness to defend Amendment 3, as well as defending the thousands of children who will be affected by the redefinition of marriage in Utah to say nothing of the thousands of years of cherished values and traditions. We will be giving updates on the situation, and also be recognizing the hundreds of thousands of voters, advocates, and legislators who used the democratic process to protect children and marital law by passing Utah's Marriage Amendment.

Utah's Marriage Coalition continues to stand together, recognizing marriage as the union of one man and one woman, the only institution that prevents the creation of fatherless and motherless children. Utah knows children need both a mother and a father, and while some claim that redefining marriage is standing on the right side of history, we know that they are redefining history just as they are trying to redefine marraige. Utahns who put children first recognize that in standing with children, they will always be on the right side of history.
