Dear House Standing Committee,

Normally, we would send each of you a personal email, however, there is not time as your committee hearing is tomorrow morning on HB 96.

Our Concerns:

  • Workforce should never be a part of P-K anything-are we really wanting to create a workforce and track the data from preschoolers?
  • Why are we setting the framework up for Obama's plan for Universal preschool, wherehe actually says that this is a plan for infants and up!!!!!!!!!
  • Early Learning: America's Middle Class Promise Begins Early

  • This video is just over a minute-PLEASE WATCH and then ask yourself is this what we really want - where's the research-parents are the key to successful adult children-NOT PROGRAMS!

  • "I propose working with states to make high-quality preschool available to every child in America... Let's do what works, and make sure none of our children start the race of life already behind. Let's give our kids that chance."

    -- President Barack Obama

  • There are not enough accountability details in this bill about private providers which are already available to parents without being legislated.  Parents are free to choose from a very wide variety of preschool helps if they so choose.
  • I have included a link that shows that early learning can actually be very harmful to children.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME IN READING THIS EMAIL AND FOR YOUR SERVICE,

Respectfully submitted,

John and Cammie Nebeker
