Dear Representatives,

Some of you know me but to most of you, I am just another private citizen of Utah. My name is Julie Blaney, I live in Payson, UT and have served in many leadership positions and given service my entire life.

I have to tell you, I'm anxious, stressed, fearful. Why, because the legislature session is ready to go. Why would that be? Last session this elitist class inflicted over 528 new bills, taxes, restrictions, from telling me what I can do with my tomatoes to what percentage of my gas tax is given to fund UTA. It's a nightmare for every concerned citizen! I am scared to death when I heard a news report that this session will see anew record.

What is the point anymore? Until we have no liberty left, there will always be another bill to pass, others money to redistribute. I realize that this seems like a scolding, that is not my intention. What I hope you will do is to reflect on the oath of office that you swore, that is recorded in the state recorders office, where you swore to,
"I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support, obey and defend the Constitution of the United States and the Constitution of this State, and that I will discharge the duties of my office with fidelity."

  Our Supreme governing law was intended to restrict government, so that our liberties would remain in tact. I would like to remind you of a few of my favorites;

Amendments V, states that my private property can not be taken for public use without just compensation. The money that I earn is my private property.

Amendment IX, says that the Constitution should not be construed or understood in any way that denies or disparages my rights. Taxation is theft by redistribution.

Amendment XIII, Neither slavery or involuntary servitude shall exist. Taxation is involuntary servitude.

I ask you to reconsider your motives, is this in the best interest of liberty? Is this going to make the people less free or more free?  I suggest that each of you champion the idea of finding unconstitutional laws and seeing how many you can nullify.

I mourn for what has happened to my state, to my country, to our America. Please ask God to guide you as you embark on this rigorous path. With every new law, we most often lose freedom.

fas-cism
noun
a socialist governmental system led by a dominant elite which seeks to control industry and commerce, and uses legislation and governmental decree to force Utopian programs on people.

free-dom
noun
one's natural state of being; a governmental system reflecting one's natural state, including voluntary funding and voluntary willingness to join and cooperate with minimal intrinsic rules, but with no programs of "good intention" forced on people "for their own good."

You were each elected by the people, to represent them, entrusted with a sacred duty, obligated by oath and bound by subscription, to honor and defend the constitution. I pray that this message will nag at your conscience during the discussion of every bill. You must know that I will also pray for each one of you to do the right thing.

Most sincerely,

Julianne Blaney
