My name is Kathy Pretell, and I am a public school teacher in a charter school. I have taught in a public district school for five years and changed to a public charter school four years ago. One of the main things that influenced my change was having parental involvement in schools. One of the detriments of teaching in a public charter school is the inequitable funding. I am a full supporter of S.B. 38 as it would help to make educational funding for all students fair. I support equal funding of all public schools and feel that in order for every school to succeed, funding must be equitable. Please help support S.B. 38. All of our students need to have an equal opportunity to receive a great education. The equitable funding would not hurt traditional district schools, only provide a way for the funding to be fairly distributed per child educated within the public school.
