Dear Representative,

I ask you to carefully consider the vote on SB 38.  As a parent and citizen in Taylorsville, I am quite concerned about the loss of funding to our public schools.  The majority of children still attend public schools and in Utah we spend less than most other states per student in education.  SB38 will create a greater discrepancy in the overall quality of education available to most of the students  in our state-- which will certainly impact our state in a negative way.  Weakening our largest education system will not be for the greater good.  Public schools are required to maintain a public accounting of how monies are distributed, which therefore creates high motivation and fosters responsibility to use funding in the most beneficial and efficient ways.
