Dear Representative, Please keep the Utah School Board Non Partisan. I am very interested in the School Board issues, my boys attended the JCC, went on to Catholic school, and one is now attending Wasatch Elementary and the other in at Salt Lake Arts Academy. I am a very strong proponent of the CORE Curriculum, however I do not feel like the teachers are being motivated, supported, and trained well enough to get this program moving. I would like to become more active in the positive movement of the Utah Education system, however if we go to a Partisan system this just throws up more road blocks for a system that is already too cumbersome. We need to focus on positive change and changing old world mentality. Teachers are retiring because they refuse to change, parents are homeschooling because of the fear older teachers are giving them, and administrators and union leaders find this the least of their problems. I have been a PTA President, I have created and ran more school fundraisers than I care to remember, I have been involved in my sons schools from the beginning. I chose to go back to public school because I believe in CORE and where it is going. We teach our children not to judge a book by its cover, we tell them to listen to both sides of a story. When there is partisan anything, there is NEVER TWO sides. Please keep the Utah School Board non Partisan. Sincerely, Jennifer Bergman 801-915-4663
