Dear Lee,

We’re well into the holiday season so you’re possibly busier now than at any other time of the year. I promise to make this short.

In case you missed it, Sen. Mike Lee was selected for the 2013 Turkey of the Year Award.

Thank you for taking the time to respond to our informal poll. It was close, but Lee barely beat out the recently resigned John Swallow. Among other things, Lee won the award forplaying Lloyd to Sen. Ted Cruz’s Harry to orchestrate the first government shutdown in 17 years, as well as for his vote against the federal Violence Against Women Act. Lee actually claimed it was unconstitutional.

Help us hold politicians like Mike Lee accountable by donating 20 dollars right now.

We’ve been especially busy with the John Swallow scandal and fighting for Medicaid expansion. But it isn’t all we do. Scroll down to see the rest of what we’ve been up to.

You’ve probably never heard of the Trans-Pacific Partnership
While the complications and debate surrounding the Affordable Care Act have been dominating the news for the last several weeks, I find it alarming that the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) hasn’t been getting more attention. In fact, it is probable that the majority of Americans have not even heard of the TPP, although it will likely [...]

Op-Ed: Our coalition shows breadth of support for Medicaid expansion
Members of the Coalition for a Compassionate Utah recently took to the editorial pages of the Salt Lake Tribune to describe why they and their supporters are asking the governor to accept full Medicaid expansion. Nearly 123,000 Utahns will have access to healthcare if Gov. Gary Herbert accepts Medicaid expansion in Utah. And if he doesn’t? [...]

There are many reasons to be thankful in Utah
It’s a commonplace that politics is a mean and divisive sport. A recent article in the New Yorker by Harvard political science professor Jill Lepore noted that our political discourse has become more polarized than at any other time [...]

Is John Swallow a bad man? I really don’t know. I’ve shaken his hand, but we’ve never spent more than a few minutes together and I don’t know much about him beyond the news reports that have circulated so [...]
