Dear Representative,

I strongly encourage you to pass HB 228 by Rep. Brian Greene on state board of education election reform. I support partisan elections because I feel the State Board of Education is out of control. They are making a lot of decisions about our children without parental input. Last I checked these children still belong to the parents, not the State or the Government. They need to be accountable in some way to those they serve. I feel elections would help them listen to those most concerned for Utah's students, the parents, and not to those with monetary incentives for the programs they choose.

I have had many experiences, where my child's teacher couldn't make any decision without permission from the principal who in turn had to ask the district who then couldn't make any decision without the State school board. This is out of control. WE need more local control and incentives to listen to those who care most.

Please help us by voting for HB 228!!!

Thank you for your time,

Debie Jolley
