Dear Chairman Sanpei,

First of all, thank you for your volunteer service to this great state.  I'm writing you to disregard HB 37, the seizure of private property.

A small group of fishermen who covet fishing holes they cannot access in the name of public water is tantamount to someone expecting unlimited access to a neighbors pool on a hot day because their property is nicer then theirs.

Please ignore what might be disproportionate emails or letter  "support" for HB 37.  The silent majority doesn't support taking private property without compensation and neither does our constitution:   "Sec. 22. [Private property for public use.] Private property shall not be taken or damaged for public use without just compensation."

Whether you are are pro 37, neutral, or on the fence, go to the stream access website and look at the comments section and I think you (like I) will be appalled.

This is a bill that would get momentum in some rogue republic, but should not in Utah.

Thank you for your service.

Best regards,

Braden Hopkins
