Dear members of the House Education Committee,
Please pass HB 169 - Student Privacy Act. I know that most parents, like me, are very concerned about having their children's privacy protected. We are careful what we post online, and yet personal data is collected without our consent through these tests given out at school.
I also strongly encourage you to pass SB 139 out of committee. This is a homeschool amendment that puts the educational choices back on the shoulders of the parents, where it rightly belongs. With very few exceptions, no one is more deeply concerned and invested in a child's education than their parents. I enjoy homeschooling several my own children, and associate with many other homeschooling families within the state of Utah. These parents are dedicated in seeing that their children receive a wholesome, well-rounded education, and do not need to be dictated as to what or how long their children are taught each day by the state board of education.
Thank you for your time,
<3 Rachel Lewis
