Dear Representatives,

It is with great urgency that I request that you  vote NO on HB-417.

While there are many concerns, my greatest is that (1) it shifts our texts to informational at the expense or minimization of literature and (2) it spends millions of dollars doing this.
Classic education, including classic literature, has been a staple in critical thinking for generations and centuries and it should not be reduced or denied, especially in place of informational texts.

Again, on behalf of the children and families, please  vote NO on HB-417.

I appreciate your willingness to hear the voice of those whom you represent.

Thank you,
Jennifer
