Subject: Raise the Minimum Wage - Call Congress Today
Date: Wed Mar 05 17:14:41 MST 2014
Body:

On February 26, House Democrats filed a Discharge Petition on the Fair Minimum Wage Act, the bill that would give low wage workers a much needed raise to $10.10 an hour by 2016. They have done this because the Speaker of the House of Representatives, John Boehner, has made it clear that he will NOT put the bill on the House floor for a simple up or down vote.

If 218 members of the House sign this Petition, then the bill MUST receive a vote on the Floor where we are very confident it would pass. In order for that to happen, Members of the House of Representatives will need to hear from you, respectfully but firmly demanding that they sign the petition.

You can reach your member by calling (888) 851-1916 from your home phone. When the office answers, simply say "America needs a raise and I support the Fair Minimum Wage Act.  I ask Representative _________ to sign the discharge petition so that there will be a vote on the Fair Minimum Wage Act." And then please say “Thank You!”

And Thank You so much for helping spread the word!
