Subject: Please pass HB228 on State Board Elections
Date: Mon Mar 03 08:50:04 MST 2014
Body:
Dear Representative, I fully support HB 228 which would allow for greater transparency in elections to the state board. I oppose the current system which deprives citizens of getting people onto the state board that have differing views from the Governor’s selection committee. I believe partisan elections are best for Utah because partisan school board elections would mean a much smaller number of delegates elected in our own neighborhoods would examine those candidates up close and make a decision to shrink the list of candidates down to size and would eliminate our current "one party system". Thank you, Angie Evans
